This Blog is purely to record my bucket list and life experiences. The thing about bucket lists...as you cross things off, you just seem to add more to the list again.
Love it!! As you know, I was hatched & dragged up for the first 16yrs of my life some 25miles outa London. Having been dragged screaming & kicking from England, I can honestly (hand on heart) say that I would never, NEVER, willingly return to England again. SA is my home & has been for 35yrs. I fall into the category of being able to be taken out of the bush, but no one can take the bush out of me. Returning here after being away for 10yrs is challenging & despite all good intentions, I really don't know if we'll retire here. The crumbling infrastructure is a worry, as is crime, but if more of us whiter-shade-of-pale come back, I reckon the country can only strengthen & go forward. It's a difficult choice (should you have it) but IMHO it can be worth it.
I have lived in Switzerland, and England twice, even had my little boy in England but nothing compares to home. Now in Cape Town and loving every minute of it. Kids love it too. Good luck never easy deciding where to live.

Congratulations to you both on your little boy. Hope you find the right place for your family to settle down.

I want to go back...I want to go back...I want to go back...
nothing that is going on there makes me not want to go back!!
Hehe sounds remarkably like my life, give or take a few details, genders, etc.
I think our minds are in similar places.
LOL....my Oupa used to tell us he never had to cut his toenails because they got knocked off on the stones on his long walk to school!
:)
